Hello everyone! We've been snowed in here on the plains for the last several days. At first it was nice to have a day away from the office, but now we're going stir crazy! I haven't had a chance to do any of my normal decorating or photographing, but I thought I would share a little life update in the way of a few Instagram photos.

A few weekends ago, Matt and I headed down to Oklahoma with his sister. They went to the KU-OU game and I went antiquing...the perfect set up for both of us! : )

It was a beautiful drive through the plains of Kansas and Oklahoma.

We stopped for lunch at Flat Tire Burgers in Edmond, where I spent part of my college years.

And after dropping Matt and his sister off, I got the whole afternoon to myself for antiquing in the small towns along I-35. This antique store was my favorite as it was located in this beautiful old hotel. All the rooms had the original 1800s wallpaper and the giant staircase leading to all three stories was beautiful.

Then last week, the snowstorm hit and we've been pretty cooped up ever since. We have the pleasure of having this gorgeous church as the view from our TV room window. I love enjoying the architecture in every season, but especially covered in snow.

A little cabin-fever snapshot of items that have made their way to the coffee table.

A second round of snow hit us today, and it's supposed to become a blizzard tonight and tomorrow...but it makes for a pretty drive home from the office!

This week Matt officially started eating clean with me. I thought being snowed in called for some delicious whole wheat pancakes, made with these lovely organic eggs of course. The flour packaging is pretty cute too : )

So, what have you guys been up to? If you're in the midwest, have you been surviving the snow? I think I'm over it and ready for spring now!

Flea Market Finds

Ah, flea market favorite day of the month. I got out bright and early before church last Sunday morning to do a little treasure hunting, and didn't come up empty-handed. Not the biggest haul I've ever come away with, but I did find several very special things.

{photo via my Instagram}

I brought home a bit of spring green with this old bottle and striped linen tea towel. I absolutely love these old striped tea towels, but don't find them often without embroidery on them. I was thrilled to find this one for just $1.

The bottle was a fun find...As I was making my first sweep around the market, I noticed a busy booth surrounded with people. I hurried over, wondering what all the commotion was about. A woman was selling very very old things for pennies, and people were scooping them up right and left. As I was attempting to grab a few items, I noticed a woman who I see often and know is a dealer at one of my favorite antique malls. She had a great pile of stuff, including a wonderful old hanging wire basket. I was so sad I hand't gotten there just a few moments earlier to snap it up. I may have to purchase it from her at the antique mall : )

I absolutely love this tall marble lamp with its simple lines and classic column details. This shade isn't quite right for it, but it's from one of my other lamps and I just used it for the pictures.

I also found an aqua transferware tureen...

and a great ironstone pitcher with pretty detailing on the handle.

This old salt sack has wonderful typography.

I can't resist purchasing old wire egg baskets whenever I find them. I think their shape is so interesting, and I especially love them flattened and hung on a wall.

An old horse weathervane makes such a graphic statement. Weathervanes are one of my favorite collectibles.

And just in time for Valentine's Day, I also purchased a pair of vintage botanical prints in scalloped white frames.

All these items will be available at The Cottage Collective - probably next week.

Hope you all are having a great week!
