Hello friends! Are you loving all the Christmas house tours going on right now in the blog world? I know I am! I am hoping to join in Jennifer Rizzo’s Holiday Housewalk again, so I thought I would do a post on each room and then join her party with a complete tour. So today I’m sharing our living and dining room.
It was so fun to finally have a full size tree to decorate. We purchased this 7.5′ one at Home Depot this year and I love its presence in the room.
The console table got lots of mercury glass and greenery of course, and the built ins have just a few subtle touches for Christmas warmth.
I mostly added greenery to the existing decor in the shelves, but I did tuck a few of my favorite little Christmas decorations in too.
I’ve seen my little church under a cloche from last year all over Pinterest so I decided to continue the tradition : )
I bought the white pinecone vase filler at Target, and the little rattan sleigh is still one of my favorite Christmas decorations (from the Target dollar bin a few years back).
I added white poinsettias to my favorite trophy and a whispy pine wreath to the arched mirror. Not big changes but they definitely make it feel much more Christmas-y in here.
I’m really pleased with how the tree turned out. I used clip on white poinsettias from the Dollar Tree to make a statement, and filled in with all my mercury glass and silver ornaments I already had. It just shows you don’t have to spend a lot to get an expensive look. I think the poinsettias make it feel so elegant, but you’d never know where they came from : ) The silver tree skirt is from TJ Maxx.
In our dining room I simply added pine boughs to the chandelier as well as a bowl of mercury glass and greenery as the centerpiece.
These beautiful pinecone and acorn ornaments came from White x White at Bottoms Up.
I set the table with Cake Kitchen Paper placemats for a festive touch.
It’s amazing what a little greenery and a few pinecones can do to dress things up for the season. I really think simple decor is best!
And I just have to share my great find for over the TV. I scored these mirrored stars for about $7 each at TJ Maxx. I knew they would be perfect above our TV for the holidays, and I may even leave them up year round. I had pinned similar stars from Pottery Barn for $89…I’d say I got the better deal! : )
Thanks so much for stopping by! Merry Christmas!
