This post contains affiliates, which means I may make a commission if you click on a link and make a purchase

Ok, yes, every blogger in the universe is talking about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale...I know, I know! But...most of them are fashion bloggers and ya'll know we're here to (mostly) talk about home stuff. So hopefully this is a bit of a different take for you. I just had to share a couple of my favorite home scores from the Early Access Sale. Right now the sale is just for Nordstrom card holders, and the sale opens to the public in a week. There are a few things I've had my eye on for a few months and was really happy to see were included in the sale.

One (my very favorite rug, which is way out of my budget but I wanted to include because it is discounted so if ever you were going to scoop it up now would be the time!)
Two I've eyed this pillow for a while - perfect for a serene bed
Three A classic, neutral pouf that can go anywhere
Four You can't go wrong with simple latte bowls. We have these and use them constantly.
Five My very favorite way to style a kitchen is by layering pretty cutting boards for detail and dimension
Six Rifle Paper Co...need I say more?!
Seven So many pretty rugs in this sale! Love this silver and soft blue one
Eight Most of their Dash and Albert rugs are on sale. They have the best classic patterns!
Nine People rave about these Nordstrom towels
Ten I've been hunting for a pure white pillow with a good pattern on it. This one is under $20!
Eleven Fall is coming, which means cozy throws everywhere
Twelve Another pretty rug with tons of interest
Thirteen My mom has wanted this pillow for her master foreverrrrr and it's finally on sale!
Fourteen And I've wanted this blush ikat pillow foreverrrrr too : )

Is there anything you're loving from the sale? Happy shopping!

My Favorite Inexpensive Brass Curtain Rods (And White Curtains Too!)

This post contains affiliates, which means I may make a commission if you make a purchase after clicking on a link

Hi guys! First of all, I have to say thanks for all the love over on Instagram about my backsplash debacle. I'll write a full post on the experience soon, but you guys were all so sweet and supportive and I really appreciate it!

Besides pouting about tile this weekend (ha!) I also got our living room curtains hung! It took me a long time to decide what to do about window treatments in here because of both cost and looks. These are such large windows that I didn't want to spend a bunch, but couldn't decide whether we needed blinds/shades in addition to curtains. I also dragged my feet a bit because my favorite Target Farrah panels were perpetually sold out in the longer size. (I just went to get the link for you and they are back in stock! So the story of my life haha!) I knew the Ikea Ritva curtains were a favorite of many bloggers, but they are just a touch off-white, and I really love a true white, so was hesitant.

Ultimately though, we really, really needed window coverings so I ordered two packs of Ritvas and am really happy with them. They are ever so slightly off-white but it's certainly not the end of the world. They have a nice hand to them and look much more elegant than their price point. As you can see we've made a decent amount of progress in our great room and it's really starting to feel like home!

And now on to the best part...these curtain rods. They are the Umbra Cappa brushed brass rods and I love them. They are very similar to these from West Elm which I love but at a much better price point. The largest size (which I have) is usually between $40 and $50. You can find them on Amazon, Hayneedle, and a few other stores if you want to compare prices.

I somehow got crazy lucky one night and stumbled on them for just $10 a piece! I seriously think it was a glitch in the system! I bought three rods as quickly as I possibly could in case the price went back up while I was on there. Even if you don't find them for that price, they are still a great deal.

I paired them with these ring clips from, which were also very affordable. They are a pretty close match to the rods. The clips are probably a bit more shiny and the rods more matte. If you're very OCD it might bother you, but I think especially once hung it's hardly noticeable.

I am so happy with how our simple window treatments turned out! I'm glad I didn't end up getting other shades, since just the panels keeps things so light and simple. We can just draw the curtains closed in the evening, easy peasey. It was the perfect touch to make this room feel more complete!

20 of the Best Bar Stools (And What We Chose for the New Kitchen)

Our new kitchen…be still my heart! It’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of! Beautiful white cabinets with crown molding, a gorgeous custom vent hood, quartz counters (don’t tell, but I would have picked lighter ones…but I’m not going to complain!), and a soon-to-be marble subway tile backsplash (we are having it changed since this one is pretty but a bit busy for our taste).

I agonized over which bar stools to put in this stunner, knowing they’d be like the jewel in the crown. There are so many beautiful choices out there, but I had a few details I really wanted. I knew I wanted them to have a back, for both comfort and kid safety, and I really wanted them to be white to break up the dark countertop a bit. Right off the bat, I fell in love with the Riviera stool from Serena and Lily. It had just the casual-modern look I was going for, had a nice tall back, was light and bright and added a touch of natural wood tones with the bamboo legs. But ya’ll know I love a bargain, so I looked everywhere to see if I could find something similar at a better price, with not much luck.

The runners up were these upholstered beauties from Joss and Main. I do absolutely love them, and if we weren’t right in the middle of raising up little ones I might have picked them. Of course I have bright white upholstery other places in my house, but we are intentional about not eating on it (not gonna work with a bar stool) and really it’s all slipcovered and therefore very washable. Upholstery not so much. So the Serena and Lily beauties ultimately won out for their wipe-ability! #ToddlerLife

Now that we have them in our home I have to say we absolutely love them! They are incredibly comfortable, with nice long seats so your legs aren’t dangling uncomfortably. We get compliments from everyone who comes over. I’m ultimately so glad I went with them!

If you’re on the hunt for bar stools, I rounded up a few of my other favorites, since I’ve now seen just about everything out there haha! Which ones would be your pick?
