2017 Christmas Gift Guide

I have so much fun every year picking out items for the holiday gift guide, and this year was no exception! There is just something so special about giving a truly beautiful gift, especially when it's something they'll love but not necessarily buy for themselves. I hope this guide gives you some great ideas for all the ladies on your list and at every price point. Many of these items would be great for hostesses, moms, mothers-in-law, sisters and friends. Stay tuned for a toddler gift guide also, as well as one for the guys in your life. Happy gifting

This is such a fun gift for anyone who loves to snap photos. Print them out instantly and stick them anywhere.

Tocca is one of my very favorite perfume brands, and this little mini set is perfect to try out a scent and very well priced at only $20

Need I say more?

Perfect for the baker in your life and pretty enough to leave on the kitchen counter

I love this sweet little detail as a hostess gift or to tie onto a package

Everyone raves about this silk pillowcase to help with hair breakage, wrinkles and more. Pure luxury.

A pretty, simple gift all the gals on your list would love

This one is on my personal wish list, as I'm always looking for simple daily jewelry.

The patterns on these tea towels are gorgeous. I want to turn them into pillows! Another great option for the hostess or chef

Inexpensive but looks so chic

Blush and cream look so good on most skin tones, and plaid is always a favorite

How darling are these?

The prettiest little stocking stuffer

I got a Naked palette as a Christmas gift probably four or five years ago and I still use it daily. Such a great investment!

Voluspa makes the best scents and the white tin feels so elegant

I just ordered the iPhone X along with the pink gingham case. There are so many darling pattern options though!

These are only eight dollars! So cozy and a great gift to have on hand for teachers, co-workers, etc.

A classic that anyone would love and a great price point

I've heard people rave about this hair care set

You had me at stripes and scallops

Best of the One Room Challenge

There were so many beautiful room make overs in this round of the One Room Challenge! Here are a few of my favorites

This stunning kitchen from The Leslie Style (who basically renovates a whole house every 6 months and kills it every time!). You have to see her pink sink!

I found Erin Kestenbaum on Instagram and love her work. Her bathroom makeover did not disappoint!

Vanessa Frances is probably one of my favorite designers and this basement she designed for she and her daughter is nothing short of perfection

Room for Tuesday does some incredible work and this bathroom makeover (apparently a lot of us chose a bathroom!) is just beautiful - understated and elegant

And last but not least Coco and Jack (an official participant) redid their living room and the results are stunning. Another of my personal favorite designers!

Look for Less: Gray and Gold Play Kitchen

I shared this deal on Instagram and it went crazy! In fact, this play kitchen is sold out almost everywhere right now but I still wanted to link everything for you so you can keep your eyes out before the holidays. We got this darling gray and gold play kitchen for Lexie for her second birthday and it's such a hit! She loves playing with it and I love that it's pretty to look at : ) It looks so much like the Pottery Barn version but for significantly less. I bought ours on Wayfair and I find they generally have the lowest price by at least a few dollars, but I will also link to other places around the web so you can check for restocks and sales. I typically see it for about $145-165 (sometimes much more, but want you to get a good deal!). The cheapest I ever see it is when it is on Zulily, but it sells out super fast over there so you have to be quick. This would make the sweetest Christmas gift!

Oh and by the way - I hate the little notepad graphic on the fridge, so I just taped some Rifle Paper Co. wrapping paper over it to match our decor. You could do this with any kind of paper you like!

Currently: Thanksgiving Edition

I can't believe Thanksgiving week is here! It seems like Halloween just happened and I'm still trying to catch up! Here are some Thanksgiving links to inspire your table, your food and your wardrobe. Happy Turkey Day!

I really wouldn't mind hosting Thanksgiving if my kitchen looked like this!

I'm trying my hand at this pumpkin mac and cheese from my girl Living with Landyn this year, and couldn't be more excited!

With so much prep the week of Thanksgiving, we're eating our very favorite, super easy pumpkin soup a couple nights this week. It's been in the rotation since September, but this is probably the last hoorah since pumpkin is hard to find after November. It's seriously a family favorite and incredibly quick and easy! We recommend serving it with a crusty bread.

Also loving this gorgeous Thanksgiving set up from Chris Loves Julia

I always want to look chic but cozy at Thanksgiving, and wear something with a little "give" to it that will make it through two huge dinners and pumpkin pie too. These are my (forgiving) picks this year!

Diagonal Poncho (so classy, hides the belly!)
Floral Dress (such a pretty fall print and great with leggings and boots)
Buffalo Check Wrap (you can't go wrong with buffalo check this time of year and it looks so cozy!)
Blush Wrap Sweater (feminine, soft and sweet)
Flutter Sleeve Blouse (fun details paired with a loose, flattering cut)

One Room Challenge | The Reveal | Modern-Traditional Powder Room

Seven weeks, fourteen hours of wallpapering, two turkish rugs and it's all finally over! The One Room Challenge is in the books and I'm so excited to share our completed powder room with you guys today.

I'm so happy with how everything turned out! It took this space from basic to filled with pattern and interest and so many elevated details.

The wallpaper was definitely the right choice. I love the watercolor texture and the modern pattern that's also so timeless. It just took the whole space to a new level and is the perfect backdrop for the rest of the elements.

Just to remind you, here is where we started.

The room is not terribly small as far as half baths go, so I was able to add a shelf in this open area. I wanted it to be really simple so it didn't compete with the other elements in the room, so it's the simple metal and glass Vittsjo from IKEA.

I kept the styling light and airy so it didn't feel cluttered, with a few bathroom staples and containers for storage.

It's all in the details and this textured planter is one of my favorite little touches.

My very favorite element might be the mirror. It is so unique and elegant, but still very modern.

I was so happy to find this little lemon cypress topiary at Lowe's which really added a lot of life to the vanity.

This room is not tiny but is still small enough that it's a bit of a challenge to photograph. It was hard to get in the shots but I absolutely love how this rug ties everything together. The subtle pops of pink elsewhere are brought through in the rug, and I love being able to incorporate a vintage piece into the room.

I hadn't really planned to incorporate pink into the room until I found this artwork from Minted, which I absolutely adore!

I chose two pieces from the same artist that would compliment each other and bring through the charcoal palette.

Again, the details are my favorite part of decorating, and the little brass stripe on this marble soap dispenser is just perfect with the brass corners on the mirror. And how about the texture on that vase? It was part of several things I found 75% off at Kneader's Bakery of all places!

And the light. I know I already shared about it in previous weeks, but it's just such a statement.

We absolutely love our new space, and even though it was quite the whirlwind over seven weeks, it was so worth it! It's so gratifying to see a space so transformed and it makes me want to join the ORC again in the spring! Maybe just no wallpaper next time ; )
