It might be freezing outside now, but looking back on photos from this sweet summer birthday party makes it seem almost like warmer days are near. Yes, I am almost six months late sharing about this party, but better late than never, and this one was worth waiting for – it was such a special day!
Evan is obsessed with all things GOLF so that just had to be the theme of his second birthday party. It was easy to combine golf with my love of classic little boy style and soft colors.
I had a seersucker jon jon made with an embroidered monogram and golf clubs.
My sweet friend Brooke of Brooke Lorraine Photography was kind enough to come and take these beautiful photos, which was such a blessing to me. It’s really a lot to be the party planner, decorator, hostess, mama AND photographer, though I usually do all those things at our parties. Having someone else take the photos made everything so much easier. She is so very talented and I love how she captured this special day!
My mother-in-law created these darling golf cookies that gave so much personality to the party.
I found these blue gingham treat bags at TJ Maxx and they were perfect for the take home gifts. We filled them with golf ball chocolates, golf ball pens and a few other goodies. I made the tags myself using the graphic from the invitation.
I couldn’t find quite the right thing for a backdrop so ended up printing two vintage golf posters in large scale to serve as the focal point above the dessert table.
We topped the cake with a little toy golf cart, which were fun to keep as toys after the party.
We decked the kids table with golf themed goodies also. Everyone got their own golf ball cup which were such a hit!
These golf plates fit the theme and color palette perfectly, and I layered them over gingham plates I found last year in the Target dollar spot.
We had the best time partying outside during most of the party. I have a summer birthday and am so glad one of my kids does too – there’s nothing like a summer birthday party with some water fun in the backyard! (Our pool is by Liewood, which is a Scandinavian company that’s sometimes hard to find in the US. Here’s the only version I could find right now – the smaller pool than we have.)
One thing I was so excited to include was corn hole decked out in the golf theme. I covered our normal corn hole boards in colored butcher paper to create golf greens, and the kids had a blast playing with them.
Another fun moment was this little “pro shop” in the backyard. I had grand visions of having a blue and white striped awning above it, but that was a failed DIY project (that I spent way too many hours on haha). But even without it, it was still a cute addition and the kids had fun playing shop in it! (Side note – if I had to do it over again I would use this method to create an awning.)
I’ll always remember this sweet party and special day. Evan is the most fun two year old – sweet, cuddly, adventurous, joyful and playful. It was so much fun to celebrate him with his very own golf party!
If there’s one mantra I’ve always believed, it’s that you can have a beautiful home on a budget. Sometimes I think it feels like a Pinterest-worthy home is out of reach, but that’s just not true. Through all my years of blogging, I’ve really tried to show that you can achieve a gorgeous home without…
One thing I’ve learned is that I adore throwing our daughter birthday parties. There is just nothing quite like the magic and sweetness of a little girl party. You can see her first birthday here and her second birthday here. This is the first year she’s had an opinion on the theme and since she’s…
CLICK HERE TO PIN THE RECIPE FOR LATER >> I admit I’m not much of a baker, but I’ve been in the habit of whipping up some healthy-ish muffins maybe once a week or so to have on hand. Often they are easy blender banana muffins, but I decided to make something a little…
I think Lexie spent months thinking about the theme for her birthday party! She came up with just about everything under the sun – bunnies, Frozen, ballet, Lightning McQueen. Truly the things that go through four-year-olds minds are pretty great and hilarious. We thought the winner was going to be Peter Pan (the movie she…
I’ve confessed my love for celebrating holidays with little ones before, and Easter is no exception. You can see how I decked out Lexie’s first Easter basket last year here. She was tiny then, and is definitely more of a toddler now, so I know she’ll really enjoy the little gifts we’ve picked up for…
It’s finally here! You guys have been so patient as I put the finishing touches on the playroom, and I am so excited to share it with you today! This space was so much fun to put together, which is very fitting because we have so much fun using it. Lexie absolutely loves her little…

Hiii this is adorable! Few questions – where is the prints from on the wall of masters and championships?
Also, where is your dress from?
Hi! I couldn't find the kind of prints I wanted for a reasonable price so I just printed them from previews which you're really not supposed to do, plus they weren't very high res so up close they're pretty grainy. Sorry I can't link them better! My dress was from Old Navy!
I did just update the post with some better links!

Hi, love this golf party! Thinking of planning a “Hole in ONE” golf themed party for my son’s first birthday. How did you make the PRO SHOP and thank you signs from the invitation?
Thanks!! Molly
