Holiday Simmer Pot Recipe + Gift Ideas for the Home
A simple holiday simmer pot recipe to bring in the scents of the season + gift ideas for everyone on your list for cozy time at home

As we prepare for the holiday season I wanted to bring some delicious scents into our home. I had never tried a simmer pot before and knew this time of year would be perfect to try one out and make the whole house smell festive! I decided to make it in a crock pot rather than on the stove top using this gorgeous new white crock pot from Walmart. I didn’t mind having it sitting out on my counter all day because it’s so well designed and fits right in with our kitchen decor. Check out the holiday simmer pot recipe below to make your own.

Walmart Home has some of the best gift finds this year. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite pieces that make great gifts for the home – which means they can be for just about anyone on your list! I also really love that you can shop by price so no matter your budget it’s easy to find something special.

Now that I have the gorgeous crock pot, I have my eye on a few more of those pretty kitchen appliances – like the blender for my daily smoothies! And how sleek is the white espresso machine?!

If you’d like to make your home smell like the holidays, here is what I used in our simmer pot.

Holiday Simmer Pot Recipe
- 2 large oranges, sliced
- 1 apple, sliced
- cinnamon sticks
- star anise
- fresh rosemary
- cranberries
- cloves
Fill a crock pot with water and add all the ingredients, with the crock pot on low and uncovered. If using the stove top, bring ingredients to a low simmer then turn the heat to low.

Ingredients can be saved in the fridge overnight if you want to reuse them a few days in the row. Your house will smell like holiday magic!
