Neutral Christmas Living Room Decor Ideas
Take a tour of our neutral Christmas living room and get tips and ideas for your own light, bright holiday home!

Our Christmas living room is one of my very favorite things to create each year (see last year’s here). I pull all the bins and boxes of decorations out, add a few new pieces in, and start layering in that holiday magic!

Last year our flocked Christmas tree was in the far corner, but this year I knew I wanted it back in front of the window. This mean we needed to flip the furniture layout, and I’m so glad we did. The tree is now at the heart of the room instead of a bit of an afterthought. I don’t love having the couch on this side of the space but it’s alright for a few weeks. I say this time of year, arrange your room around your tree!
Neutral Mantel and Stockings
For this year’s mantel I layered three of my favorite faux eucalyptus garlands together. These are some of the most realistic faux garlands I’ve ever seen! Then I simply added in fresh pine boughs from the grocery store. It’s simple and timeless and feels a little more light than some garlands, which I like in here.
Tip: Dress up stockings (ours are these cream velvet ones) with extras like ribbons, bells or initial hangers.
Flocked Christmas Tree

Our flocked Christmas tree is looking especially lovely this year with the addition of some rattan bells, and all my favorite gold, silver and white ornaments.
I also love layering in a few wood bead garlands for a natural touch. And our new gold star tree topper is one of my favorite things!
Christmas Coffee Table

On the coffee table I kept it simple with a vase full of fresh greenery and a large bowl filled with my favorite oversized mercury glass ornaments.
Tip: Everything makes an impact in multiples. Use grouping of like objects to make a statement. Fill a bowl with ornaments or pine cones, group multiple bottle brush trees, or cluster bells together.
Christmas Shelf Decor

You know styling shelves is my favorite part of decorating, so it’s extra fun at Christmas! I swapped out the art for some beautiful winter prints, my favorite way to change my home with the seasons. A collection of trees, houses and vintage finds like the brass holly candle holders finish off the look.
Tip: add a few fresh evergreen boughs throughout your Christmas shelf decor. It makes them feel extra festive!
Holiday Console Table

My favorite arched console table (a Home Goods find), was kept simple with a little tree and nativity. Again, I swapped out the art for a winter scene and added a wreath. You just can’t go wrong with those simple changes this time of year!
Neutral Christmas Decor Ideas

The little corner behind our couch was the perfect opportunity to do lots of styling for the season. I added vintage sleigh artwork, beautiful gold metal wreaths, and popped in Christmas accessories like a velvet Santa and wooden trees.
Tip: use a mirror to amplify the light, reflect Christmas lights and repeat pretty moments, like these gold wreaths.
