It’s true! If you follow on social media you already know, Matt and I are expecting a baby girl in October! That is the reason for my long absence…the first trimester was pretty rough to say the least. But I finally feel back to normal and now that we know it’s a girl I am so excited to plan her nursery! Even before I was pregnant I knew most of the elements I wanted in the nursery, so it’s fun to finally pull my ideas together. I want the space to be soft and soothing, with pops of peach to keep it feminine. The design board looks a little more pink than I’m envisioning the space. I think it will read more as gray and white with peach/pink accents in real life. Here is what I’m thinking…
I am hoping to install molding three-quarters up the wall and paint the bottom Stonington by Benjamin Moore (a very soft gray), with the top white with these darling starburst decals, much like this room:
I want the room to feel sophisticated, not too baby-ish, so a lot of the accessories are ones I’ve picked up or planned to buy from home decor stores, not necessarily nursery accessories. I want the room to be able to grow with her, while still feeling charming.

I love
this gorgeous nursery by Bungalow Blue Interiors and was inspired to do similar drapes. I will probably use simple white curtains and have my mom sew a peach (a bit less coral than these) border on for me. I already found a vintage dresser very similar to the inspiration board
to use as a changing table, I just need to paint it white.
For her crib I’m hoping to keep it simple with classic gray and white bedding. The
Jenny Lind crib is timeless and also affordable. Have you ever priced cribs before? You can spend some serious cash if you want to. It seems most baby gear is that way, in fact. But I just don’t see the point of a $900 crib, I suppose. This one is lovely and much more reasonable.
I can’t wait to get started on everything! I’ll be sure to keep you posted as the room comes together! (You can see behind the scenes pics over on
