Six Tips for Creating a Beautiful Fall Table
Six simple tips to decorate your table for fall and easily create a beautiful autumn tablescape.
Creating a beautiful and inviting fall table is the perfect way to bring in the season while also welcoming friends and family into your home. I have been so excited to host a few autumn gatherings in the coming weeks, and wanted my table to feel special. As always, I love the challenge of creating a beautiful home on a budget, and I knew would be just the place to find everything I needed at an affordable price. Many thanks to Tuesday Morning for sponsoring this post.
In the fall, I love to add extra layers to our décor, to make everything feel warm and cozy. I want our home to feel welcoming and inviting. There is nothing better than gathering around the table with friends and family. Our tables are often what our guests experience in our homes most closely, so I put extra effort into the table décor.
I was so impressed with the selection of tableware and fall goodies at . They’ve long been a favorite place of mine to shop for home décor. They offer gorgeous finds for the home at 20-60% less than department stores. And the best part is, their inventory is always changing so you never know quite what you might find – my absolute favorite way to shop!
Here are six tips for creating your own fall table.
Start with a Strong Foundation
For this tablescape I knew I wanted to incorporate lots of warm and textural elements, so I chose a light, simple cream and white tablecloth for a fresh and crisp foundation. This kept the table from feeling too heavy. Tuesday Morning had so many beautiful table linens to choose from, I had a hard time deciding between them!
Choose a Color Palette
Every table benefits from an intentional color palette. In this case, I used the warm fall tones found in the pumpkins – dusty orange, sage green and warm grays – complimented by wood and brass tones. When you plan a table, decide ahead of time what colors you want to use. This makes shopping for elements so much easier.
I spotted those gorgeous faux pumpkins at and knew they were the perfect jumping off point for my color palette. They have the most amazing selection of fall décor and I am so impressed with how realistic the faux pumpkins are!
Create Drama with Height
Add Interest with Texture
Make your table more interesting by incorporating different finishes and textures. The large wood cutting board serves as a base for all the other décor, and its pretty wood tone brings in the feel of the season. I couldn’t believe such a large piece was only $29! The brass candlesticks elevate the look and lend an elegant feel against more rustic elements.
Bring Out the Special Serving Pieces
And seasonal dishes like these darling pumpkin plates make any meals feel special.
Incorporate Natural Elements
I’m so ready to welcome in the season and our guests! Bring on the pumpkin pie!
